7 GENIUSES
& THE LOSER

Fantasy Football’s Least Reliable Source of Journalism

The state of the league: two weeks down, dignity already questionable

One undefeated team. One winless team. Six teams pretending everything is fine.

Two weeks into the 2026 season, and we already know enough to make several irresponsible conclusions.

One team remains undefeated. One team remains winless. Six teams are packed into the great mediocre middle at 1-1, where everyone can still convince themselves they’re a championship contender.

Welcome to 7 Geniuses and the Loser, where the sample sizes are small, the confidence is enormous, and the managerial decisions are already becoming evidence.

Let’s assess the damage.

👑 King of the Very Small Hill: Smack my Fannin 🥵

Record: 2-0 | Points: 305.36

There is exactly one undefeated team in the league, and unfortunately everyone else now has to hear about it.

Smack my Fannin opened the season by dropping 170.96 points on BritishBullies, winning by 52.54. Week 2 wasn’t nearly as dominant, but 134.40 was enough to dispose of Brockback Mountain and move to 2-0.

The concerning part for the rest of the league isn’t merely the record. It’s that Smack my Fannin has already scored 305.36 points while apparently treating the waiver wire like a Costco free-sample station.

Dalton Schultz. Cincinnati’s defense. Denzel Boston. Tre Tucker. Jonah Coleman. Josh Downs.

Players are entering and leaving this roster at a rate that suggests the front office is being operated by a man who has discovered the ADD/DROP button and intends to get his money’s worth.

There is, however, a developing branding crisis.

Harold Fannin has been dropped.

Which raises an uncomfortable constitutional question:

Can you continue operating as Smack my Fannin when you no longer possess a Fannin?

The League Office is reviewing the matter.

🚨 Managerial Malpractice: Legal Beagels

Legal Beagels deserves credit for rebounding in Week 2.

Unfortunately, before we discuss the recovery, we need to examine the crime scene.

Week 1 produced one of the early favorites for Managerial Malpractice of the Year.

Sitting on the Legal Beagels bench:

Patrick Mahomes — 21.66

Chuba Hubbard — 22.20

Deebo Samuel — 15.00

Stefon Diggs — 13.50

Meanwhile, the starting lineup staggered to 106.06 points and got obliterated by Kenbucky Fried Chicken, 170.62-106.06.

That’s more than 72 points sitting on the bench.

Not all of them could or should have started, obviously.

But when that much production is sitting comfortably on the sideline while your active roster is being beaten by 64.56 points, investigators are required to ask questions.

Legal Beagels responded appropriately in Week 2, unleashing Josh Allen for 40.82 points and James Cook for 22.40 in a 143.92-101.08 win over Austin Bowers.

The patient survived.

The medical board has not closed the investigation.

🍗 Kenbucky Fried Chicken: From Penthouse to Outhouse

No team has experienced the emotional range of Kenbucky Fried Chicken.

Week 1:

170.62 points

A 64.56-point victory.

Everything works.

Fantasy football is easy.

Why does everyone complain about this?

Week 2:

102.30 points

A 38.94-point loss.

Suddenly the waiver wire is open at 2:13 a.m. and you’re staring at Rashod Bateman’s player page thinking:

“Maybe this is the answer.”

Kenbucky’s week-to-week scoring decline was:

68.32 points.

That’s not regression.

That’s falling through an open elevator shaft.

The good news is that the Week 1 explosion proves the ceiling exists.

The bad news is apparently somebody removed the stairs leading back to it.

💩 Turd Burglars: Extremely Unfortunately Legitimate

We need to discuss the Turd Burglars.

Not because we want to.

Because the numbers require it.

Week 1:

173.56 points.

That’s currently the highest single-week score we’ve seen.

Caleb Williams: 37.26

Kenneth Walker: 35.60

Bijan Robinson: 28.30

David Montgomery: 27.40

That’s 128.56 points from four players.

The Turd Burglars then lost Week 2 to BritishBullies, 164.36-120.62, bringing them back to 1-1.

But Week 1 established something important:

This roster possesses enough firepower to ruin someone’s Sunday.

Which brings us to Week 3.

They get the undefeated Smack my Fannin.

This is either where the league’s only perfect record ends…

…or where we begin having a very annoying conversation about 3-0.

🇬🇧 BritishBullies: Reports of Their Death Were Premature

BritishBullies opened the season by allowing Smack my Fannin to hang 170.96 on them.

Not ideal.

But Week 2 produced one of the strongest performances of the young season.

BritishBullies 164.36
Turd Burglars 120.62

Davante Adams: 37.50

Jonathan Taylor: 28.20

DeVonta Smith: 24.70

That’s a convincing response after the Week 1 beating.

BritishBullies are 1-1, but the 282.78 total points suggest Week 1 wasn’t evidence of a bad team.

It may simply have been evidence that sometimes you walk into the wrong bar on the wrong night.

🍺 Tony Romo’s Corona: Offensive Outbreak

Tony Romo’s Corona has scored 302.40 points through two weeks.

Only Smack my Fannin has scored more.

And yet Tony Romo’s Corona sits at 1-1.

Welcome to fantasy football, where being good and actually winning are only loosely affiliated concepts.

Week 2 featured an absurd receiving combination:

Jaxon Smith-Njigba — 41.00

Amon-Ra St. Brown — 32.70

That’s 73.70 points from two receivers.

Tony Romo’s Corona beat Kenbucky Fried Chicken 141.24-102.30 and now heads into Week 3 with Jared Goff arriving as quarterback insurance following the Jayden Daniels situation.

The record says 1-1.

The scoring says this is probably not a team anyone particularly wants to see on the schedule.

🤠 Austin Bowers: From Hero to Missing Person

Week 1:

Austin Bowers 150.46
Brockback Mountain 89.70

A 60.76-point massacre.

Austin Bowers looked terrifying.

Week 2:

Legal Beagels 143.92
Austin Bowers 101.08

And just like that, the sheriff disappeared.

That’s a 49.38-point scoring drop in one week.

At 1-1, Austin Bowers remains perfectly alive in an eight-team league.

But we’re going to need to determine which version is real:

The 150-point gunslinger from Week 1?

Or the guy from Week 2 wandering through town asking if anybody has seen his offense?

🏔️ Brockback Mountain: Searching for the Trailhead

Record: 0-2 | Points: 211.06

There must always be one.

Brockback Mountain is currently the league’s only winless team.

Week 1 brought an 89.70-point performance and a 60.76-point beating from Austin Bowers.

Week 2 was substantially better: 121.36 points.

Unfortunately, Smack my Fannin scored 134.40.

So Brockback Mountain enters Week 3 at 0-2.

Mathematically, this means almost nothing.

Spiritually, however, we’re monitoring the situation.

The waiver wire activity suggests management understands the urgency. Emmett Johnson, Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks have all arrived as reinforcements.

Week 3 brings Legal Beagels.

A win gets Brockback Mountain immediately back into the conversation.

An 0-3 start gets them their own recurring section in this publication.

No pressure.

🏆 THE WEEK 2 TROPHY CASE

👑 Fantasy God of the Week

Jaxon Smith-Njigba — 41.00 points

Forty-one fantasy points from a receiver is less “good game” and more “personal attack.”

🩺 Managerial Malpractice

Legal Beagels — Week 1

We are carrying this award forward because the bench remains under investigation.

📉 The Golden Dumpster

Kenbucky Fried Chicken

170.62 → 102.30.

A 68.32-point collapse deserves hardware.

Preferably hardware recovered from a condemned building.

🧲 The Horseshoe

Smack my Fannin

The league’s only 2-0 team.

Winning by 52.54 in Week 1 was dominance.

Winning Week 2 by 13.04 while scoring 36.56 fewer points?

That’s where we begin checking for horseshoes.

🪦 The Crime Scene

Austin Bowers 150.46 → 101.08

Last seen: Week 1.

If found, please return the offense to its owner.

🔥 WEEK 3: THE HYPE & HATE REPORT

Turd Burglars vs. Smack my Fannin 🥵

This is the main event.

The league’s highest single-week scorer against its only undefeated team.

If Turd Burglars produce anything resembling Week 1, the undefeated season could end quickly.

If Smack my Fannin reaches 3-0, we’re going to have to start using phrases like “league leader” without laughing.

Nobody wants that.

Brockback Mountain vs. Legal Beagels

The Desperation Bowl.

Brockback Mountain is trying to avoid 0-3.

Legal Beagels is trying to prove Week 2 was the real version and Week 1 was merely an unfortunate administrative error.

Somebody leaves this game feeling much better.

Somebody else may begin researching fantasy basketball.

Kenbucky Fried Chicken vs. BritishBullies

The Volatility Bowl.

Both teams have already demonstrated the ability to score more than 160.

Both have also demonstrated the ability to make their owners stare silently at their phones.

There may not be a more unpredictable matchup this week.

Tony Romo’s Corona vs. Austin Bowers

Two 1-1 teams heading in opposite emotional directions.

Tony Romo’s Corona just produced 141.24.

Austin Bowers just produced 101.08.

But both teams have already crossed 150 this season.

This could become a shootout.

Or fantasy football could do what fantasy football does and both teams could score 108.

📊 THE BOARD AFTER TWO

1. Smack my Fannin 🥵 — 2-0 — 305.36 PF

2. Tony Romo’s Corona — 1-1 — 302.40 PF

3. Turd Burglars — 1-1 — 294.18 PF

4. BritishBullies — 1-1 — 282.78 PF

5. Kenbucky Fried Chicken — 1-1 — 272.92 PF

6. Austin Bowers — 1-1 — 251.54 PF

7. Legal Beagels — 1-1 — 249.98 PF

8. Brockback Mountain — 0-2 — 211.06 PF

Two weeks have told us almost nothing.

Which will not prevent this publication from drawing sweeping conclusions from all of it.

Smack my Fannin has the throne.

Brockback Mountain has the dumpster.

Six teams are fighting over everything in between.

Week 3 begins the process of determining which of these teams are contenders, which are frauds, and which managers will spend Sunday evening insisting:

“I almost started him.”

Welcome to 7 Geniuses and the Loser.
